Maybe something to be learnt from how the G49 interact with parents

At G49 they have a mailing list through Compass. This seems to be really effective for getting parents to contribute for nights (for example ensuring that a child brings a book down to book-readers night, and ensuring that they collect cardboard and bottles for the scrapheap challenge night). Don't know if it might be worth making Facebook groups for each section for parents to communicate - as I know how much our group likes Facebook - or maybe even using a mailing list.

They have a parents rota to get more help. Usually the parent is as useful as Poppy, however might be good to get more people involved in the group. Also, might be a good recruitment strategy for new leaders as parents can see how warm, friendly, and.... PHAHAHAHAH.

Of course, both of these would mean putting more effort into the evenings and there is no guarantee that parents would be that useful at either.
